Resolved Question: no paint coming out of airbrush?

for christmas i got a bottom-feed airbrush, paint, and a compressor. using the open-bottle "siphon" thing. i hooked it up to the compressor and tried using it. the air came out perfectly and looked like it was fine. because of this i assume that the needle is clear and there is nothing blocking it. but when I put the siphon-bottle-thing up to it and put water in it, the water just bubbled everywhere. I tried it with ink and the exact same thing happened. it just bubbles everywhere. any suggestions? more

i am about to start airbrushing, i am looking for a decent airbrush at a decent price (some of the master airbrushes looked pretty good for their price) and a decent compressor. if i can find a deal under $200 that would be great. are there any good deals out there that are 1 or 2 brushes and a compressor for under $200? or if the compressor had a tank i might be willing to go a little higher like $250 please any recomendations would be helpful more

Ive been researching airbrush kits. Ive never done it before but id like to try. Most stores seem to sell Badger so ive stuck with that brand. For the compressor... Ive been told that the ones that come with a kit are not very durable and tend to die quickly. Is this true? Should i be getting a small compressor elsewhere? And for the actual kit. I prefer one that comes with everything i will need. Is there any specific kit you would recommend from badger (or others) that would work for me? Will it allow me to airbrush many things? I dont want to be too limited in what i can airbrush. Thank you very much :) more

Resolved Question: Buy a new compressor?

I have a Campbell Hausfeld compressor that i use for airbrushing. It somewhat shut off because I think it overheated. It said on the compressor that it had a built in safety feature if it overheated. It also said on the compressor that if it overheated, you needed to let it cool off for 20 minutes and begin using again. I tried that. I waited way over 20 mins and no luck. I'm thinking that if I can't get my compressor to work, I would buy one made for airbrushing. I believe that an airbrush compressor is cheaper or more inexpensive than a compressor that you would use a whole lot. What do you think? If I can't fix my compressor, should I buy a new one? more

I have a "campbell hausfeld" brand compressor. I use it to airbrush, but It is hard because I have to have a fan right next to the compressor to cool it down faster. What I'm mainly asking here is should I keep doing what I'm doing now or buy a compressor that's made for airbrushing and n othing else. I would prefer a compressor that is made for airbrushing and nothing else. What do you think? An answer from an airbrushing artuist would be great! more

I have this "Campbell Hausfeld" brand air compressor. I use it for airbrushing but for some reason it loses air pressure too fast even when I don't do anything to it. It works fine but I think I should buy a compressor that is made for airbrushing, unlike the air compressor I have now, which can be used for anything. I need your opinion about this. An airbrushing artist's opinion would be great. It'd be also great to have an opinion from an expert at airbrushiing The compressor needle goes up to the number 6. It shuts off automatically and then I have to wait like 20 minutes or something for it to cool down and use it again. This is why I'm thinking of buying a new compressor. I still NEED your opinion. more

Resolved Question: My airbrush gun is clean and blowing air but will not draw liquid through the chamber?

I use a Iwata studio series power jet lite that I use for airbrush tanning. The compressor is fine, the gun has been cleaned and re-assembled and will blow air but is not drawing the tanning solution through. What could the problem be? So i have basicly no idea how to paint cars. Please answers me as if i was like traped in a basement for years and now i want to paint a car hood.How do i do it? ive scraped the paint out with a scraper, the paint just scraped right off didnt even need to sand, and the primer was still there so. Then i went and bought 2 cans of primer and 2 cans of gloss black spray paint. 2coats of primer, 3 coats of black. It came out not that good. I want to try again but with a spray gun. i have airbrushes and i know all about R/C painting. So what do i do? Buy the spray gun HVLP, i have a compressor, big one. Then go to a auto paint store and ask for a certain amount of primer and a certain amount of Glossy black? then spray on the primer then black? because with the cans its not that good to paint. Thanks, i just want step bby step directions on how to do it nice so the hood looks as if it came out the factory. the car is a 95 toyota tercel dx btw. Thanks a lot apreciate the help. more
