Breast Pumps Questions asked

Open Question: I am so upset and really need help?

I have been back to work for a month and I am breast feeding so at 11:00 I pump at work. There have been numerous times That I have went to the administrator that gives me my break and he has really given me a problem like I am bothering him. Then there have been cases that he tell me I cant relieve you because I can't get anyone to cover and I work in a school there are teachers everywhere and I know he can if he just took some time and figured it out. Today I went to him for my break and he told me that my principal wants to speak to me, when I went ot the principal she told me that the administer is concerned because I take an hour to pump and I have to clock out from now on in order to pump and I have never taken an hour to pump I usually take a half hour and that is still rushing considering clean up and preparing everything. I am so mad because I don't want to stop but I cant afford to clock in and out What should I do. I am 90% breast feeding  more

Open Question: how do you wean 8 month old from breast if she has never taken bottle or pacifier?

... and most importantly, she only falls asleep on breast? she cries if her papa tries to put her down to bed and she still wakes up in the middle of the night for a few sips of the magic potion in my breasts. she takes water and juice from a normal cup but if i put some breastmilk in the cup, she just shoves it away and starts crying. she has always refused pumped breastmilk from bottle (tried many times from birth to 6 months) and i have tried 5 different pacifiers but she spits them all out. we even tried teaching her to suck her thumb without success. my husband is always joking with me that i cut of one of my breast and give it to my baby so that i can get some sleep. i feel like i will never be able to wean her off my breast? i would like to hear from those mummies who were/are in similar situation and what you did/do.  more

Open Question: frustrated baby while breastfeeding?

My son is a lil over 2 months old and has been breastfeeding fairly well. I have pumped several times to have my husband feed him but only because i was sick, then i got a breast infection (twice) and then my baby got a cold. Right around the time he got a cold my breasts went from, what it seemed like, making too much to not enough. Maybe it was because he started eating more and draining both breasts. But lately he has been getting frustrated when the flow is slow. He keeps pulling off and re latching. It's causing my nipples to get sore. I try and massage my breast to help express milk for him, but it doesn't help much. I read that you never run out of milk completely because as long as the baby keeps nursing , your breasts will keep producing. Sometimes he drains both breasts and is still not satisfied and i don't know what else to do. I haven't expressed milk for a bottle in awhile because i was afraid bottle feeding was making him lazy. But now that his congestion seems to be gone, /the problem still remains. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything else i can do?  more

Open Question: Can I get my milk supply back this late in the game?

Open Question: Questions regarding "getting ready for a newborn"?

I am looking forward to being a mom so much! There are just some things I’d like to know though that don’t come “natural”. Thank you for your help!! 1. How many feeding bottles do you need? 2. Do you suggest getting a manual or automatic breast pump? 3. How many sets of crib sheets do you need to have? 4. Did anyone use a “munchkin” (it gently keeps your baby in the back sleeping position)? Did you find it helpful or did you dislike it? 5. Did anyone have a baby bjorn? Did you like having it or not? Thanks!!  more

Open Question: Problems with my mother in-law?

My mother in-law and I have been super close ever since my husband introduced me to his parents when we were still dating back in spring 2001 and we never had any issues whatsoever. I started getting very irritated once my daughter was born. Because I don't get along very well with my blood mother .. my mother in-law came up and stayed with my husband and I. She even helped me through labor/delivery, which I was very appreciative and thankful. Things started to fall apart when I couldn't get the hang of my daughter latching on because my daughter was born 3 weeks early than her scheduled due date and she had a poor sucking so she never latched on. My husband and I borrowed a hospital grade breast pump from the hospital, which my MIL became very upset with me every time I used it. I even used a breast shield, which she told me a story about snatching those things away from her girlfriend because in her opinion mothers should be able to latch their babies no problem and it's unnatural for mothers to be using breast shields or even breast pump so she had snatched them away from her girlfriend, which she then flushed them down the toilet to make a point. One day, after I finished pumping my breast for milk .. my MIL stormed into my bedroom, which is a safe and private place for me to relax and she yanked her top off (shirt/bra) and shoved her perfect boobs/nipples in my face telling me how she was able to breast feed both of her boys no problem. Her boobs weren't inverted like mine are. Since that day, I was so pissed off and so upset the next day I confronted her without bringing my husband into the middle because really this was between my MIL and I. She totally got scared of me and started having attitude problems towards me. Anyways, since then my MIL and I haven't been as close as we were and whenever we see each other or whenever she emails me she has this attitude problem where she says things that would make me offended. She'll say things that aren't true so I always have to reply back to her emails letting her know that what she is assuming isn't true or I hate it when she compares me with her other daughter in-law. My sister in-law is a whole other story, which we have nothing in common whatsoever. Anyways, I am unsettled because my sister in-law and her daughter are flying back in from their Christmas/New Years vacation from visiting her family and my brother in-law and his mom are coming to visit with my daughter and I tomorrow, which they will be staying with us for about 3 hrs. Cringes. Now I understand when others (some) have issues with their MIL. How do you deal with this? Also, it annoys me when MIL constantly brags about what her boys did when they were infants now that my daughter is an infant. It's so annoying!! I tried talking to my husband about this, but every time that I do is when I make his feelings upset and if you're curious he's a mama's boy so not sure if that matters or not, but how do you daughter in-law cope with this? Any tips or advice? Also, my mil makes comment like, "When your niece was just 4 months old she started having her teeth come in" while my daughter who was at 6 months old got her first 2 bottom teeth in. She's 8 months old now, but still no teeth on her top or anywhere else. Then, my mil makes comments like, "My oldest son who is my husband by the way skipped his crawling stage, but began to walk one day when he was just 9 months old." My blood mother always reminds me how each "babies" are different from one to another so I shouldn't really worry about what my mil says about my daughter. One thing I totally made her look so stupid was when she was here with us when my daughter was born and she kept making comments like, "Did you know that all babies says the word Dada before they start to say Mama?" Well, a month ago - my daughter started saying the word - Mama out of the blue and started using her "M" sounds like ma ma ma ma mmmm ma ma. Even till this day, she can't say her "D's" yet - LoL I know this post might seem very long and I apologize, but lastly, my husband, daughter and I had traveled couple hours to meet them for Thanksgiving when my mil was holding my daughter when she said the word "Ma Ma" and making her "M' sounds that the look my mil gave herself made her look dumb. I told her, "Sally can say Ma ma, but she hasn't used her "D" sounds yet for Da da. Lmao One last thing I promise is that I started feeding my daughter solids when she turned 6 months old and I use store bought baby food and my mil has a problem with that saying that she made everything from scratch for her 2 boys and so did her other daughter in-law. My parents fed me store bought baby food when I was once a baby and look how I turned out to be all healthy. My husband said it was ok for me to use store bought food as long as I eat it first to make sure the food is safe for our daughter and my blood parents don't have any issues with it either.  more

Open Question: should my 7 week old be eating more?

when she was first born i was breasfeeding but i was having alot of problems getting her to latch on and stuff so i pumped, she started to only formula feed at about 3.5 weeks. when she was eating breastmilk and breastfeeding it was every 2 hour ( i think thats normal for breast milk) anyways now that she is on fomula she is eating about 4 oz. bt she still wants to eat every 2 hours. i thought with formula they went longer then that. i tryed putting more in her bottles but she will not eat more. or is this just normal for her to eat every 2 hours?? btw she is no fat at all or anything she is around 10 lbs and was 7.5 when she was born.  more

Open Question: Update on Mallory Marie?

Mallory came home from the hospital today. Still don't know why she kept vomiting the formula but able to keep the breast milk down. She finally got her weight back up. I think the formula her belly isn't handling or something. She is doing better and hoping to keep the weight up. She failure to Thrive which they diagonsed her with. I am on a strict feeding routine with her which every three hours. I got really good help from their staff they even had a lactation specialist there to help me with the issue. They even have a pump I could use to pump when needed. Found out that I am not making enough milk but able to pump after each feeding to get it up. My plan to pumping during the day to feed her by the bottle so i know how much she taking and offer her small amount of formula if needed to. I hope everything well go better for us. It been tough four weeks for both of us and i am sticking to it.I be feeding her like the doctor had asked. Thanks for your prayers. Here a question. What was toughest you had to go through with your baby. It was toughest for me seeing her in the hospital and didn't like to be messed with by the nurses.  more

Open Question: pumping mommies--how do you tell when you need to increase the amount of milk you give to the baby...?

and how do you know how much? Do you have to just figure it out with some trial and error? I've heard tell about some special baby scale that tells how much the baby has eaten at the breast if you weigh him right after he eats? Does anyone know about that?  more

Open Question: Breastfeeding problems?`?

Hi I am really having some problems with my supply at the minute. When I try to feed my daughter she will only feed for a few minutes before crying as there is nothing coming out anymore. I used to be able to pump 6 ounces at a time but now I am only able to get 3 quarters of an ounce. I am having to supplement her with formula. I am also taking fenugreek to help but is there anything else I can do? I know I should keep putting her to the breast but she screams as she is hungry. Any advice? Thanks in advance She will be 11 weeks old on Thursday I have been breastfeeding but sometimes offering formula. I have done this from birth. She has no problem latching on and showns no preference for a bottle. It just seems to be that my milk supply has diminished. Thanks x  more

Open Question: Breast pump from WIC/Health Department?

I know they provide one for moms who are on Medicaid/WIC and have to return to work or school... I forgot to ask this: Do they let you keep it, or is it just a "loaner?" The hospital (depending on which one of the 2 I deliver at) will GIVE a manual one. The one from the Health Department is an electric Medela one. Yup, the one from the Health Department is a keeper, AND you can get a half issue (5 cans instead of 10) of formula.  more

Open Question: I need some Breastfeeding help please?

My baby is 2 1/2 months and my milk never fully came in. I had the same problem with my first daughter. I pump and pump, but cannot get anything unless I compress my breasts. All I manage to pump is less than an ounce a day. I offer her the breast before each feeding, but she gets frustrated and tugs at my nipples until they bleed. She is eating 28 ounces a day, and grew 3 lbs in one month. She was under the lights as a newborn. Could that have something to do with it? I started with the pump from the beginning. Has anyone had any luck increasing milk supply after this long? What can I do? I have checked into taking Reglan, but the side effects of chronic diahrrea and stomach troubles worry me. I am feeling hopeless, but I want to breastfeed so bad. My milk will not let down when I try, either. Once in a great while she will get a good feeding in. The lactation consultant told me to drink more water, and continue pumping every three hours, but it has not been working at all. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. I am working to get a little in her every day, but I really want to solely breastfeed. I feel so sad. I know it is what is best for her. Please help. Thank you. I am taking blood pressure medication and the mini birth control pill. I did notice my supply went down even more after I started taking the pill. My pump is rented from the hospital, so it is hospital grade. And the only time she gets an ok feeding is when I go a little longer between pumping, usually first thing in the morning. Maybe being more relaxed helps? I really don't know. She is getting mostly formula after I offer the breast and give her the small amount I pump. I have four kids, so finding the time to sit and relax and pump without being interrupted is not an easy task. I normally have my three year old with me the entire I am trying to breastfeed/pump.  more

Open Question: Breast feeding and bottles? Kinda personal lol?

If you breastfeed and pump, do you need to get bottle nipples that are shaped like YOUR nipples? Like, a shorter/smaller nipple if you have small/short nipples? Mine are REALLY little and I want him to be able to take a bottle of expressed milk if he HAS to, but want breastfeeding from the breast to be the main supply.  more

Open Question: Foremilk, Hindmilk pumping...?

I pump my son's milk. No I do not think breastfeeding is icky, my son had a really weak latch and got nipple confusion once I was forced to supplement in the hospital when he was three weeks old. Anyway, I was wondering, I am only pumping twice a day now, and I am worried that I am just getting lots of foremilk and not enough of the high fat hindmilk. If I am totally emptying the my breasts when I pump, should I worry? I get roughly 14-18 ozs each pump (not from one breast!, both!) I am not worried about supply My son is 7 months old and is only taking 25 ozs now I used to pump 8 times a day! I am very aware of my supply I continued trying to latch him up until 6 months, seeing specialists and no luck, trust me, pumping is not a choice!  more

Resolved Question: Breast pump for first time mom? Too many options!!?

Ok so I'm going to put a pump on my list to make everyone happy (I'm tired of the "you need to do this, you should add this, etc") Anyway, this is my first, so needless to say, I feel like a kid in a candy store and can only pick out one thing! I don't understand the differences in them, the reason for 20 brands and each brand having 10 different kinds!! Can someone please recommend a good, easy to use one? Like specific models? (I'm overwhelmed and too tired to look at all of them) What's the differences in the storage methods? Which ones are easiest to freeze with? Do you have to have certain bottles or can you just attach any of them or will I have to pour it into the bottle he likes? Just please tell me everything you know about breastfeeding and pumping!!..... Oh, and can you use a used pump?  more

Open Question: The best breast pump?

Open Question: At wits end with hungry baby!! Help?

My little guy is 4 weeks old, and every night at about 7-8 o clock he seems to want to be feed for 2 solid hours! He'll feed for about half hour and then seem full and i'll burp him and he'll fall asleep for about 1/2 hr and then wake up hungry again, and basically repeat this process till about 1130. It's really frustrating me! Minus the fact that i'm not enjoying breast feeding that much and really tempted to buy a breast pump and just pump exclusively. I need help, any suggestions? I'm not interested in supplementing with formula, i honestly want to make it work with breast milk, but not sure pumping exclusively is for me. Please help, any advice would be great! I'm just so frustrated! I don't think it's a matter of supply, he's gaining weight nicely, and he doesn't seem to have this problem during the day... just at night.  more

Open Question: How much breast milk should one have during a day if they pump only once during a 12 hr period.?

How much breast milk should one have during a day if they pump only once during a 12 hr period.? I have someone that I know who is claiming to me that she pumps only once during a 12 hr period and has 2 full bottles of milk and only nurses once or twice daily and each time she either has to follow it with a full bottle or a full meal of solids. When we are out she has to nurse the baby about 1 time every hr and the baby is 8 months old. The mother claims she is leaking all the time .She is really trying to prove a point that she is breast feeding and has no problems with milk but yet she supplements with formula but honestly I have been bf for 18 months and I know how the process works. You are not going to have tons of milk if you don't feed that much. Tell me if I'm crazy but this is not how it works this 12 hr period is every day and has been for 2 months now.  more

Resolved Question: Breastfeeding moms: Baby is 10 weeks old and my body seems to be producing less milk. I haven't changed a ?

thing. I used to be able to pump an extra 4 ozs per day, at least. Now I am lucky if I get one extra oz with pumping. Also, the baby always drains both breasts for the most part but still seems hungry. She is gaining weight (she is in the 85th percentile for weight) and has plenty of poopy and wet diapers...so I think she is getting enough to eat. My ob/gyn put me on the mini-pill about 3 weeks ago and I have also been sick with a sinus infection for the last week. Could this be why my body is producing less milk? (I decided to stop taking the pill today just in case that is the culprit.) What do you think? Thanks! I've just been taking Dayquil a couple times a day for the sinus infection.  more

Resolved Question: question about breastfeeding my 9 month old?

The pediatrician told us to feed him solids until he didn't want anymore and then offer the breast from 6 months on (in that specific order). He always filled up completely on solid food and never wanted to nurse afterwards so he effectively dropped a feeding every time I introduced a meal of solids. By 8 months old, he began sleeping through the night and stopped his 2, maybe 3 nursing sessions in the middle of the night. Also, at 8 months old, I added in a third meal of solids. So for the last month he has only nursed upon waking, once in the afternoon around 3-3:30 and then he gets a bottle of pumped milk (5-7 oz) before bed around 7. The pediatrician said that breastmilk 3 times a day was fine. For the last week, my son has not wanted to nurse in the afternoon. I can tell he is hungry and needing a snack. He eats lunch around 11 and dinner at 5 so he obviously can't go 6 hours without eating. So today I tried breastfeeding him when he acted hungry around 3. He refused. I made a bottle of formula (we have some in the house for road trips and when I can't pump enough for his bedtime bottle...but it is rarely used) and he took a few sucks and refused that too. So then I sat him in his high chair and he ate 4 oz of fruit puree and a whole bunch of Earths Best Crunchin Crackers and drank water from his sippy cup. Is he self weaning yet another nursing session? It seems that he really prefers solid food to breastmilk (or formula). I know I can't just let him only eat solids. My supply is so down right now I can only pump like 4 oz at night when I used to get 7oz. What should I do to get him either more interested in nursing or willing to at least take formula from a bottle (he's a high maintenance baby and I can't spend the time pumping that I'd need to in order to give him all his milk in a bottle and to increase my supply) He has had the one bottle of pumped milk every night since he was 5 weeks old. We have continued using the newborn nipples with the slowest flow. So I don't think it has taken 8 months for him to deside he prefers the bottle. Plus, this afternoon, as I mentioned, he didn't want to nurse AND he didn't want a bottle either.  more

Open Question: Question for those of you who pump.?

Just wondering if I'm getting a good amount out. I can't keep up with my baby and she is on formula at night and I would like her to be on breast milk all the time. I get about 2oz out of each side and my daughter is 6wks. How old is your baby? How much do you get each pumping? How often do you pump? Thanks for your help.  more

Open Question: When I pump I only get milk when I first start , is that normal?

Open Question: Will I continue to produce milk if i only pump and not put the baby to breast?

I just had a baby 1 week ago and i want him to have breastmilk, however when i breastfeed him directly it takes him like 2 hours because he always falls asleep, and in the middle of the night, 2 hrs just isnt fun so Ive been pumping. I just need to know that if i only pump and not put the baby to breast will my milk continue to be produced, or does my body need that physical contact with him to keep it coming?  more

I plan on asking my OB all of my questions.. but if you would please just give me a heads up.. I know that you shouldn't really consume alcohol. I don't plan on it. But .. your able to freeze? Will I have to pump on a daily basis? Or am I able to pump a bunch, freeze & pump again when supply is low? Sorry, first time mommy 2 be ! ;) Is it weird to use someone Else's breast pump? Open Question: help me or i will go crazy....?

grr...i get so aggitated...my fiance and i live with his parents while our house is getting finished. I did not want to live here from the get go. they are nice people but his mom drivs me nuts. it is like a love hate thing that i have for her. She pretty much does everything but wipe my fiances ass. which is annoying, i feel like i do something for him and she has to top it. He has a daughter from a previos relationship, she pretty much takes her off and has to do everything for her, not letting my fiance or i do anything. She has to give her a bath and all that. the daughter is 2 and she takes her to bed with her. when ever its his weekend she leaves work early to get here when my fiances daughter gets here. its like she does not trust us. My son who is 3 from a previous relationship is really good playing with other kids cause he goes to daycare a couple days a week. well his daughter does not play well with others, and nobody disciplines her. it drives mt nuts. She is a good girl but my god, its all about her. anyway what ever not my kid. so i guess i can not say anything. well anyway we just had a baby 10 days ago. i only have so much time off from work and college so i hold her alot and love on her a lot. Well the MIL says that i spoil her. who cares she is my kid, and you can not spoil a newborn. well its like everything that i do its never good enough. the other day it was like 65 out and we took her out with us to wal mart and the MIL was complaining that we should not take her out in this weather. then she is always complaining oh she must be cold, oh her neck must hurt when she lays like thst and blah blah blah. it gets old. i went to get a breast pump and i got criticized for that, sayign that was dumb my milk may never come in and blah blahblah. then tonight i leave to get my son from his grandmas and my fiance was holdin her i come back and she is in the craddle i asked why and he said his mom thinks she needds to learn to sleep by herself, coming from the woman than makes the 2 year old sleep wit hher everynight! i was so mad. my fiance does not really stick up for me. we got in a huge fight about her last week and she told me that i neeed to get use to people always looking over my shoulder...justifying her rudeness. i could care less if someone looks over my should but do not tell me how to take care of my chold, espeically when i have raised one by myself. before my fiance my son and i lived alone and i payed my own bills for a few years so i know what i am doing and she still makes comments that i can not manage money or cook!! the first week at their house she would make dinner and bring everyone a plate except me and say nothing to me. so i left the house to go eat and my fiance was all mad and i told him i had to eat he yells at me that there was food here. I was like well she did not offer me any. i am not the type to just go help myself. so then she gives me this sorry spech and said she just thought i knew to get my own. i was so embarrassed and frustrated. i just want out. i even considered leaving my fiance thats how bad it gets sometimes, he thinks his mom is always right and he will not let me be the mother of my child. am i overreacting??  more

I have a nearly 6 mth old that I will have to leave with my sister and MIL for a day at a time soon and I want to express while I am not with him so that I don't get any problems with supply. I have found this pump and its the cheaper one at only $50(aus) but I want to make sure it will work ok. I don't want an electric one. It will only be getting used a few times a month for the next few months so I don't want to spend a lot  more

Resolved Question: I think my milk is drying up! What can I do to bring in more milk?

I had my son 16 days ago. The first week it seemed like I had too much milk which had me pumping out 4 oz. a boob AND breastfeeding. He was very satisfied and slept for hours after a feeding. This week, he doesn't seem to be getting enough. I can only pump 1 oz a boob. I have even noticed my breasts have gotten smaller. What can I do to bring in more milk? Yes, he has many wet and poopy diapers! The reason I am pumping is because I have to leave the house sometimes an hour or 2 at a time and I don't want him to be hungry when I'm out. I need a little freedom in a bottle sometimes!  more

Resolved Question: For experienced breastfeeding mothers only please!?

well since my child was born almost 3 months ago she always preferred my right breast over my left so my left breast became smaller,i was able to get them to the same size eventually but now since after christmas my milk supply in my left breast has decreased dramatically,i have tried pumping at every feeding to increase the supply in that breast for a few days,i've tried drinking more water and even eating oatmeal,i have also cut out alot of caffeine.A few weeks ago i had some very dark brown discharge on and off for 2 or 3 days then it went back to clear,it was never bright blood, could that have been my cycle?A few days ago she didn't even want to nurse she would fuss and refuse.could that be because i may have had a cycle or something else?I am clueless and am needing some advice terribly.Being a new mother i am feeling worthless because my milk supply is diminishing and i cant seem to control it.please help! She is breastfed exclusively. Also i can only pump 1/2oz out of the smaller breast and 2oz out of the other.  more

Resolved Question: I'm traveling by plane out of state without my infant son. How much breastmilk will I be able to bring back?

I'll be using a breast pump and storing my milk. I've been to the TSA website, but it seems confusing as I'll have much more than 3oz. Will I have to store 3oz per storage bag and then put that in a quart size plastic bag? Any breastfeeding Mother's out there fly with breastmilk have any insight? I'll be traveling out of state over night without my son...it would be impossible to keep that much breastmilk in my breasts for those of you who've made the stupid remarks.  more

Open Question: How much to supplement?

I feel that my 3.5 month old is not getting enough from the breast anymore; he also doesn't pee/poop as much unless I give him a bottle couple times a day after nursing. I sometimes give him extra pumped milk, sometimes about 2oz of formula if I don't have any milk pumped and he takes it gladly. But I'm also wondering if he's just getting lazy to suckle at the breast and that's why I'm able to pump extra milk after I nurse him. I don't think it's a good idea to get him used to it and expecting some "easy" flow after having worked at the breast, but I can't get him full and satisfied (for at least couple hrs) otherwise.I'm afraid he'll refuse the breast altogether. Any advice on how handle this?  more

Resolved Question: Breast milk and formula?

I have exclusively breastfed since my son was born. (He is 3 mos now) I have been back at work for two months and am pumping twice a day at work and nursing him on my lunch break. What I am thinking of is this: When he is 4 months his doctor said we can start with rice cereal. (Please spare the arguments about waiting until 6 months because my doctor knows him specifically and I trust his opinion) I was thinking that maybe when he is used to rice cereal we could give him that at his morning feeding with some formula, I would still breastfeed at lunch, and then in the afternoon he could also have some rice cereal and formula, and then I would exclusively breastfeed during the evening. Basically I would really like to stop pumping at work because I work in an office with all men and the bathroom walls are paper thin, so I feel awkward when I pump which makes it really really hard to let down enough milk to keep up with my growing baby's needs during the day. I would LOVE to stop pumping at work. So what I am wondering is this: Has anyone else mixed formula with breastfeeding when going back to work? If I am careful not to ever substitute a feeding when I am able to nurse with formula (So just those two feedings during the week, and still breastfeeding all day on weekends) will I be able to keep up my milk supply? How much of an affect will this really have as far as the benefits of breastmilk? Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.  more

Open Question: How was/is your 2nd pregnancy different from your first? + Breastfeeding question.?

I think i may be pregnant again :) And i was just wondering how your 2nd pregnancy was or is different from your first pregnancy. Is it harder or easier? What about labor? And weight gain after the 2nd? Also with my son i didn't breast feed him but i want to breastfeed my next child. How was your experience with breastfeeding? ( I want to use a pump though). And what pump would you reccommend?  more

Voting Question: Blood in breast milk?

I've been exclusively pumping for 6 months and last night I noticed that there was quite a bit of blood in my milk from one breast. I don't have any pain, and couldn't find any places where the blood was coming from. Has anyone ever experienced this? Can the blood come from inside, or do you think it is from the suction on the breast pump? Should I dump the milk? This morning, it doesn't appear to have any blood in it. Thanks for your help.  more
